The Plaza de Santa María, located in the heart of Cáceres’ historic old town, became a prominent setting in the seventh season of Game of Thrones. In the third episode of the season, the plaza features during Euron Greyjoy’s triumphant entrance into the city. Euron is celebrated as a hero for capturing his niece Yara Greyjoy, along with Ellaria and Tyene Sand, fulfilling a promise he made to Queen Cersei. The scene depicts the crowd cheering for Euron while hurling trash and insults at his prisoners, creating an atmosphere of public humiliation and tension.
